Burwash Playing Field Association (Registered Charity No. 305191) was set up to administer and manage Swan Meadow playing field in Ham Lane, Burwash. The site is registered and maintained as a playing field in perpetuity.  It is one of the jewels in the crown of Burwash village. It is OUR green space. We should protect it, use it – and do everything we can to enjoy it.

The pavilion and sports hall on Swan Meadow were constructed in 1998 at the same time as the two all-weather tennis courts with the assistance of a Sports Council Lottery grant. The playing field, pavilion and the children’s play area are maintained by fundraising and donations which the BPFA Committee administer and manage. The tennis courts are maintained by agreement by the Tennis Club.

The pavilion is a great venue for children’s parties as it is a safe area, well away from the main road and has the playing field and children’s play area nearby for children and families to enjoy. Please see below for booking contacts.

Burwash Fair on August Bank Holiday Monday is the single largest annual fundraising event in the Parish and is run by the BPFA to help meet annual costs and also enables other charitable groups within the community and national charities to raise funds for their needs.

Swan Meadow is the base for the village Cricket, Football, Tennis and Junior Sport clubs as well as the Bonfire Society, Horticultural Society and a number of other groups. It is also used by Burwash C.E.P. School for sports day, games and out of school clubs.

The Officers and Committee of the BPFA are appointed by election at the Annual General Meeting each April for the forthcoming year and are usually trustees of the association. The current committee is:
