Financial help for businesses reopening as lockdown restrictions are lifted

At a special meeting of Cabinet held on Thursday it was confirmed that Rother District Council has received £9.3 million to help businesses reopen. Grants of up to £6,000 for non-essential retail businesses and £18,000 for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses will be available to those who deal face-to-face with the public.

It was also decided that any remaining money in the discretionary grant scheme would be used to support businesses not qualifying for the latest funding stream. Funds will also be used to promote and stimulate new jobs through supporting new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses in Rother.
