The Parish Council is delighted to be taking a stand at the main events taking place across the parish on the Queen’s Jubilee celebration weekend. Come along and try your hand at winning a great prize, dinner for 2 at the Old Orchard Nursery by demonstrating how well you know Burwash in our picture quiz. The Parish Council will be at the Burwash Common Pavilion event on 2nd June and the Swan Meadow family picnic on Sunday 5th June.
The Parish Council are also making available a shuttle bus on Thursday 2nd June to ensure that the whole parish can attend events in other parts of the parish. Collection at est 4.30pm from The Bear Car Park, the bus stop on the corner of Strand Meadow/Hornbeam, The Wheel in Burwash Common and onto the Burwash Common Playing Fields. Shuttling between until the final run from Burwash Common Playing Fields at 8.30pm for those wishing to join the beacon lighting at Swan Meadow.
Thursday 2nd June
Burwash Common Playing Fields – 5pm – Grand opening of the Platinum Jubilee Path by Roger Daltry. 1950’s themed event with bar, BBQ, stalls and culminating in the lighting of the beacon at 9.45pm
Swan Meadow Recreation Ground – 8.30pm Choir, refreshments, entertainment culminating in the lighting of the beacon at 9.45pm
Saturday 4th June
Swan Meadow Recreation Ground – 2pm to 4pm – sports showcase. Come along and try cricket, football and tennis for free. Learn new skills and find out what’s available at your local recreation ground. Refreshments available.
Sunday 5th June
Swan Meadow Recreation Ground – 12 noon to 4pm. Family picnic event (bring your own picnic), Punch & Judy, stalls, BBQ, Bar, balloon animals, bouncy castle, magic show, ice cream and much, much more….. all welcome!
